How to spot a SCAM...

I've been asked if there are any hard rules on spotting a scam. I think I would cite these:

1) Beware of paying for the pleasure. - There are a lot of so called opportunities that require you to purchase their product before they allow you to
become an affiliate. The only thing an affiliate should care about is your potential for selling thier product. In fact top affiliate programs review their member sites and marketing footprint prior to allowing them to become an affiliate.

2) Beware of the competition - Since everyone and anyone can sell stuff online competition can quickly get stiff with affiliate offers. The bottom line is that affiliates want access to markets and traffic they can't get on their own. When you open a People Magazine you don't see 15 ads for Bausch & Loum contacts. That would be a stupid waste of money. Yet, on the Internet, affiliate marketers are often running in the same places. If you pick an affiliate program to market - find one that will limit the number of participants.

3) Be prepared to lose it all - Business is a risk no matter how you dice it up. Don't let yourself fall victim for a scam out of desperation. Always keep in mind that you could lose it all.

A search on Google for Affiliate Listings will pull over 5 million pages!

Who Taught Ann Sieg?

Hey! There's more to this blog! Click here to see more lies and scams exposed.

They say that "no man is an island" and it's obvious that no successful person has become successful on their own. Yet when you see the hype machines in full production, it seems as if the guru's did it all on their own - the immaculate conception of their own success.

Can I say how much I love the Internet and the ability to research this stuff right here from my own apartment? Here's what I dug up...

Ann Sieg has copied much of what she is doing from other people. She did not come up with this on her own! In fact according to one marketer claiming to be from her "mastermind group" she took what she could get from Leaders Club (Andre Vatke & Jeff Zalewski), Mike Dillard and few other minor sources and simply repackaged it as her own.

Looking back a few months (May 2007) at her website (annsieg.com - now changed) it used to say the following...
"I have a couple of extremely-successful network marketing friends, Andre Vatke and Jeff Zalewski, who've made their fortunes in this business and now spend their time coaching and training others how to do the same. These are the guys that taught me the exact techniques I use."

"Problem is - normally this hard-hitting course is only available to members of a special training group that Andre and Jeff lead. But I wanted to give you access to this priceless information... so... I talked to Andre and worked out a deal to offer it to you for a very short period of time without having to become a member."
I could not get through to Andre Vatke but the staff at his company Leaders Club indicated that the relationship with Ann Sieg had gone sour and that they would not comment because it was an ongoing legal case. So it looks like Ann's story is much deeper then she lets on. Like I said before, these people will never tell you the truth - that would interfere with what they have to sell you.

Undeniable, Indisputable Proof and Oh my gosh, did you get Photoshop?

Turn up the heat on scammers and they wilt like weeds in the noon-day sun without water.

In an effort to deliver proof of earnings Ann Sieg has posted doctored screenshots of her credit union statements. These are supposed to be irrefutable proof that she did consistently earn $90,000 or more per month for some substantial period of time.

Just take a look at what is supposedly January's statement...

And here is the one from February...

Notice anything interesting?

  1. If even true, this is only a balance statement. It does not show anything of importance.

  2. All actual numbers are blurred and the final number is emphasised using an image program like photoshop.

  3. If true this statement either indicated that Ann had $96,000 of expenses between January and February or only made around $700. It also does not indicate that the final balance was actually collected during that month.

  4. No matter what, this sort of posturing is deceptive and illegal. According to the FTC: If respondents lack evidence that the high reported earnings of a few distributors are in fact representative of the earnings of large numbers of other distributors, then it is clearly deceptive.

What are the real numbers? Who knows? Who cares really? And why stop at $90K?

In 2 minutes I gave Ann a 1000% raise!

See how easy that was?

Don't allow anyone's earning claims to cloud your judgement. The more far fetched the less likely that you will see anything at all.

Do you really want to help Ann maintain her income?

According to Ann: "My MLM company commission checks are just one part of this income." This means that at best this income comes from something other than she is asking you to do - join over 30 affiliate programs! In other words "Do as I say, not as I do!"

MLM Guru's, Bloggers and Crap Posters...

my dog knows more about marketing than you!
...and I'll save you $67, $214 or even $3,731 in the next 2 minutes!

So when you look into these 'brain child' marketing systems like the ones we expose here, you find out that all these clowns have done is a quick Google search and repackaged someone else's ideas as their own. Ann Sieg has plenty of advice on Internet marketing - some of the advertised features/benefits you have to pay extra for - but you can get it for free!

Here are some helpful resources...

Why do people pay for a "system" in the first place?

GREED

The odds of anyone except the first few people making money with these systems is extremely low. You're better off spending your money on lottery tickets.

The trouble is that these people know this. They know that there are countless desperate people out these looking for a quick and easy way to wealth and they will promise it. Flash you the big dreams and smile as they take your money. They know that they will be riding off with your loot before the law catches up.

If it were as easy as they promise everyone would be doing it. And when everyone is doing it, it's worth nothing. - It's basic economics.

Will the real Ann Sieg please stand up?

Just pop into some of the Business Opportunity Magazines and you'll see a lot of the same stuff.

Before everyone starts thinking that I'm just out to bash MLM and what some big time marketers are saying, let me clarify. Most of the big names - Ann Sieg, Mike Dillard, Joe Schroeder, et. al have some truth in what they will tell you. But they won't tell you the whole truth.

Take a look at Ann Sieg's current website: (http://www.therenegadenetworkmarketer.com/)

It looks surprisingly like her site from May 2006 offering a different product (Way Back Machine)

Current headline:

"Burn Your Names List... Skip The Hotel Meetings... And Never Bug a Single Friend or Relative Ever Again!"
May 2006 Headline:

"How to Succeed at Network Marketing by Throwing Your Names List Away, Ditching Your Thursday Night Hotel Meetings and Not Telling a Single Friend About Your Business"

Current Offer:

Her own eBook: The Renegade Network Marketer - Supposedly the system to end all other systems! Readers pay $67 for the right to resell her e-book and keep up to 50% (a multi-level offer). Just wait till there are a few hundred people advertising this and bidding $10 a keyword in Google! Ann will be the only one laughing - all the way to the bank... or court.
May 2006 Offer:

A free training CD which ironically has most of the SAME bullet points she offers in her eBook. A little digging and you find that Ann seems to have taken her cues from a company called Leaders Club - she even has an interview posted there saying as much!
And there's more...

The majority of her so called students are or were actually members of Leaders Club. Now, if Ann's not selling you Leaders Club, what is she selling you? The 8th Lie?

Ann Sieg Plea For HELP!!!

OK so I get this e-mail forwarded to me from an Ann Sieg target. When Ann Sieg talks about "Target Market" she's actually referring to a real "Target." One she intends on attacking and destroying with her tactics.

Looking at the email it becomes obvious to anyone that doesn't fall prey to false flattery that it's a pathetic plea for help! She needs all the help she can get! And... She's certainly not afraid to ask every living soul she can suck into her email data list for it.

When reading her beseeching pitiable email it becomes apparent to even an un-expecting novice that Ann is lost. But Ann has a way of asking in which she attempts to stroke her vulnerable and good faith victims into some sort of a "We're all in this together" sucker punch set up.

It becomes very obvious that it is drawing very close to her eBook Launch and she's already over-promised and under-delivered. She already missed the first 2 self imposed premature deadlines you know. But she still desperately needs help in getting her new eBook up and running so she can BS everyone into funding her project with what she calls in her eBook "Intel." She's a real trooper - a Storm Trooper! Storming over the innocent anywhere in her path of destruction.

Unfortunately for her; she can’t do a thing without having someone, or something to “copy,” “steal,” or at best "re-word" a little from. Yes a little. She can't come up with very much if any original material. She has no experience or track record other than a couple years of failure and whimpering to anyone that would assure her that she has to give it some time and be patient. But no! That is not the correct answer! She didn't then and she still doesn't exercise self-control and if she did... We wouldn't be subjected to so much concentrated blah blah blah, yada yada yada, Ann Sieg jargon and senseless crap!

Ann here's a thought! Imagine if you could get paid a buck for every time you asked someone, "Do you really believe this will work?" Now you would already be retired instead of ret---ed. My bad!

This is of the most obvious scams that has taken the already black-eyed Network Marketing Industry and its loyal do-gooders for a dismal and costly ride. This is going down as the "insult of your intelligence" perfect model. And it does look like it will set new and higher standards for these types of reckless rides and be one of the lamest ones ever conjured up since the turn of the Century!

As Ann likes to say (or repeat a common phrase she has borrowed from others) "Don't get me wrong!" I'll add a "Don't take my word for it!" And ask you all to simply take a look for yourself.

Go ahead and see what she was begging from her worn-out list of coveted leads. And of course included in that list are those names and email addresses she stole from her very own trusting and gullible downline.

Read on to see her plea for yet more help. Here is a Survey that she made sure any-one or any-thing with an email address, or that could provide "Intel" could help fund her "Promote Ann Sieg First" money sucker scheme. Oh yeah; keep in mind that she opened with the Subject Line: Quick Announcement And A Favor... Then she said she had 2 Questions (but whose counting) so let's take a look.

These are her questions and my own answers and responses below.

1. What are your two top questions about Network Marketing that I absolutely NEED to answer in this course?

1 - What are your credentials specifically and what company pays you the highest income? (OK I cheated. That was 2 questions already- see anyone can do it! She won't notice - I promise.)
2 - Where's proof of your income claim of $90K+ a month?
2. What price would be so low you would question the value of this system?

Any price for your double-talk circular reasoning hype is too high. You make the same claims that every other desperate online jealous and envious marketer does. You know those that punk peoples Uplines, company training, and of course the company leaders too. So they can get enlightened by a amateurish inexperienced Wanna-Be Self-Proclaimed Poser-Pro.

This adds up to empty bogus crap and you guarantee nothing but costing people good-faith investments of their own hard-earned good money.

It looks like a one-sided diarrhea of the mouth poor prospecting conversation transcript. Yawn… But more aggravating and personally insulting to a logical thinker.

3 - What price would be high enough you would value the information, but low enough that buying would be a quick and easy decision?

Are you kidding? This is embarrassing and pathetic! You want me to give you a magic number that can let you slip under the radar and fund you too? Free is too high!

It already costs too much time alone in just reading through your contradicting statements that you make regarding what others do that is a lie. And... You do the same thing and worse because you want to get paid for it.

The quick and easy decision for any logical person is to see through your BS and bust you for being a fraud so others don't get scammed by you!

4 - What price would be a bit high, but you would still invest in the system?

What system a BS worthless eBook based on false claims from a novice nobody? This is all BS and you should be ashamed of yourself! A penny and the time to read through your BS is well over-priced. It's not worth one red cent. You pollute the industry more than it already has been!

Go ahead and provide some actual proof and some references to check you out with!

5 - What price would be too high, regardless of the results my system will generate?

Any price as all is too high, and frankly; you must be high. You're definitely high on yourself and all you want is for others to do your own work for you so you can rip them off and quote them like you are legitimate.

You insult any reasonable persons intelligence right from the start.

Ann Sieg - Renegade, Outlaw, Traitor?

Ever wondered why someone would call themselves the "Renegade"?

renegade - Unconventional or unlawful person. Also: A person who gives up his or her religion, political party, etc. and goes over to the opposite side; traitor.

Did Ann really make $90,000 a month? I would love to see documentation. So far the biggest check I have been able to verify is $5,000 in one month. That's not bad but it's not $90K.

Did it cost her over $90,000 to make it? I don't care who you are, if you spend $95,000 to make $90,000, you're an idiot! And let's remember that $90K in sales is not the same as $90K in profit.

Did she do it with her "Renegade System"? Ann will never tell you what she really did.

How much will it cost you to generate a lead with the "Renegade System"? Considering your COMPETITION it could easily cost $30 or more PER LEAD! And what happens to the leads you generate with your own money? According to one of the assocaites (who asked not to be named), she will market to any lead she gets her hands on.

Who will earn the MOST from your efforts? It's not you!
Don't wash up with the Renegade...

do your homework.

Is Ann Sieg Is Being Honest With You?

In her free eBook Ann Sieg says: "The World of Network Marketing is About to Change... FOREVER!"

Truth, scam or outright crap?

Ann's eBook is a classic "funded proposal" it's the same thing that been around for a long time. Will it change the industry? Nope. Although there will probably be a few thousand people jumping in with a wish for making it big by getting in early on Ann's new system.

Here's are a few observations on her free eBook... (my comments in RED)

I'm not sure how you got here, but you've just stumbled upon something that is about to take the Network Marketing industry by storm. • It won't even drizzle.

(No... It's not yet another "ground floor opportunity" or new MLM company about to launch.) • It poses as one. Ann just hasn't figured out what to tie it to yet.

These tactics may have worked back in the 60s, when your parents (or grandparents) were in Amway... But TODAY in 2007 in our over-hyped, over-marketed world, people are just too busy and too skeptical for these tired, outdated, ineffective methods. • Ann Sieg is proving that to be wrong with her “not a company - opportunity” system & Product.

Fortunately... when you plug in to The Renegade Network Marketer System you can burn, throwaway or flush your names list forever! Because when you put into place the marketing system I hand you, you’ll never have to “chase” another prospect ever again. • If that was true then why didn’t Ann Sieg throw her list away?

Nope... From now on prospects will come to YOU. And when they do they’ll already be “sold” on what you have to offer. • Ann hasn’t stopped coming to her worn-out over-sold list since she first came up with this hair-brained brain-fart of an idea.

We are finalizing the development and testing of the most groundbreaking, step-by-step business building system ever to hit Network Marketing. • Ground-breaking and reputation-breaking are not the same but it will be business-breaking and heart-breaking for many.

This system has been almost two years in development and while it has already made it into the hands of a small group of the most elite network marketers on the planet, it is finally being made available to the public. • Not this Planet.

Many top MLM leaders are already talking about (and beginning to implement) this powerful system. In a couple of weeks the entire industry will be buzzing about what you've just been fortunate enough to discover. • Ann Sieg is definitely buzzed on something.

Truth - Ann Sieg is lying to you. If you are in Network Marketing I can promise you one thing...YOU'VE BEEN (being) LIED TO (right now)!
